WASHINGTON (AP) The government reports that consumer spending rose by 0.4 percent in July, double the June increase, while incomes rose by 0.5 percent, the best showing in four months.

WASHINGTON (AP) The government reports that orders to factories for manufactured goods jumped by 3.7 percent in July, a better-than-expected performance that was led by strong gains in demand for autos and commercial aircraft.
