James Dobson and those who voted on this ridiculous resolution are idiots and will be leading themselves to the gallows, because by doing what the resolution says, they will be ensuring a Hillary Clinton victory, which is the worst possible outcome. Dobson wrote an op-ed:After two hours of deliberation, we voted on a resolution that can be summarized as follows: If neither of the two major political parties nominates an individual who pledges himself or herself to the sanctity of human life, we will join others in voting for a minor-party candidate.
Let me tell you why this is a disaster. The Republicans need the Religious right to show up. And while I agree that the GOP has not done all it said it would do, when have the Democrats done any better? It comes down to this: do you want someone you disagree with 100% of the time or someone you disagree with 50% of the time?
And it is not like Rudy or the other candidates have not visited with the religious right. Rudy has gone to Falwell and been welcomed, he has visited with Pat Robertson and been well received, as have others like John McCain.
Mr. Dobson, do not lead people into a dark reality where Christianity will be further persecuted, where we will have even more liberal courts where Ten Commandments and religious displays will be outlawed, where abortion will not just be debated, but encouraged. Don't be so stupid, Mr. Dobson. This is politics. And who are you to decide who is purely Christian? Are you without sin, Mr. Dobson? To quote a poster, kindly grow up, Mr. Dobson!
