Here is an idea that I think just might have some merit...
Newt would be the ideal candidate to replace Sen. Martinez as head of the RNC. He’s one of our best communicators and would instantly energize the conservative base. More importantly, I believe he’d use the post to make the GOP the party of ideas, change and innovation once again.
I think Newt could do some serious work as chairman of the RNC. Would he do it? I don't know...but it is an idea that I could support. He's smart and articulate and I think that is something we've been missing. It would be the sort of "elder stateman" role that I think Gingrich could pull off.
