Senate Wants to Clean Up Government Too

I found this story in the Times-Picayune interesting because it has quotes that sound an awful lot like Rep. Jordan. The legislation is eerily similar for the reporter not to have mentioned the Jordan bill...
It would broaden the definition of "official act" to include virtually any action a member of Congress takes while serving. The definition is critical. Bribery occurs only when a member takes something of value in return for performing an "official act."

The legislation unanimously passed the Senate Judiciary Committee on Nov. 1 and awaits floor action.
Is there any coordination in effort between the House and Senate on this issue? It sure looks like it...

Sens. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) and Pat Leahy (D-Vt.) are the key players on this in the Senate.
