Remember when Speaker of State Nancy Pelosi was the little minority leader who could? She promised the American people a lot of things. Among the many promised made but not kept, was a Democrat plan for lowering gas prices.“Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices.”So, like Gov. Ted "I Wanna Be VP" Strickland's education funding "plan", one has to ask just where the promised relief is... In the year since Nancy took the gavel, the national average for gas prices have risen from $2.33/gallon to $3.09/gallon...and in Pelosi's home state of California, that price has skyrocketted to $3.39/gallon.
Question: When will Democrats do something that actually increases the supply of gasoline. Doing so would actually bring the cost of gasoline down. But don't hold your breath, middle class America...it looks like all we're going to get from the Democrats is more hot air.
In fact, the Democrats "no energy" plan actually makes the problem worse!
According to an independent study by CRA International, the long-promised plan would “restrict the supply of energy available to the U.S. economy” and increase costs for a wide array of consumer goods and services. CRA’s assessment of the disastrous economic impacts of the legislation include:
A net loss of 4.9 million American jobs by 2030;This is what the Demcorats call a "plan" for lowering gas prices.
A $1700 decrease in the average American household’s annual purchasing power; and
A net loss of $1 trillion in U.S. economic output.
