Nice Try Governor, But Ohio's Problems Can't Be Blamed on Bush

Check out this quote from Turn Around Ohio Governor Ted Strickland in Forbes:
Ohio's economic troubles will require a $700 million cut in the state budget this summer originated in Washington and elsewhere, Gov. Ted Strickland told newspaper editors and reporters on Thursday.

Strickland, speaking at the 2008 legislative preview sponsored by The Associated Press, blamed budget problems in Ohio on the skyrocketing price of oil, mortgage foreclosures and a national economy that has nose-dived in the last year.

"We are paying the price in Ohio for the debacle that is Washington, D.C.," Strickland said.
Sorry, Ted, I hate to break it to you...but Ohio's problems stem from over-taxation. But if you really feel like blaming Washington, would you mind terribly telling us, again, what your last position was? That's right...you were part of the Washington establishment in the United States House of Representatives... Is this your way of saying that you are to blame for Ohio's woes? I will say that you've not done a darned thing to turn around Ohio, but blaming this on Dee Cee is not appropriate.

And if you Ohio Republicans are smirking right now, I'll just go ahead and ask you where you've been too... If we want to lay this all on Voinovich and Taft, I'm down with that struggle, but how long have we held the Ohio House and Senate again? And don't worry, I say the same things about Republican "leadership" in Congress the last few cycles too...

Conservatives in Ohio are fed up with blame game. Ohio needs solutions and they aren't coming from Governor Ted... From Strickland, all we are getting are the usual gimmicks and parlor tricks that we've seen from every other liberal in government "service."
