Democrats Can Not Be Trusted with National Security

This just in...
FISA OUTRAGE

Democrats Make Time for Luxury Resort Real Estate Deal in the Virgin Islands…

…But Say Schedule Too Packed for “Critical” National Security Legislation

No Room for FISA…

… Plenty of Room for Luxury Real Estate Deals

“House Democratic leadership aides said late Tuesday it looked increasingly likely that floor action on legislation overhauling the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act would slip until next week … they cited a tight floor schedule for waiting until next week.” (CongressDailyAM, 3/5/08)

“House Democrats do not plan to bring electronic surveillance legislation to the floor this week…” (CQ, 3/5/08)

“House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer said Wednesday the House will not take up an electronic surveillance measure this week…” (Politico, 3/5/08)

This week Democrats did make time for a vote on H.R. 1143, legislation that authorizes a lease agreement between the Secretary of the Interior and the Caneel Bay luxury resort in the Virgin Islands.

According to a brochure on its website, Caneel Bay touts itself as a “tropical haven” with its “low-key luxury,” “secluded white-sand beaches” and a “discerning staff [that] tends to your every need.”

Democrats on the House floor called Caneel Bay the “paradise of choice for generations of families” and said the real estate deal will give time to make improvements to the resorts in order to “return it to the grandeur and stature that it deserves.” (House Floor Remarks, 3/4/08)
For Democrats, it's business as usual...meanwhile, our enemies are more than likely taking advantage of our foolishness and 9/10 thinking.
