Impeachment Dannce Update: Ohio Dems Strip Endorsement

I'm not real sure what to make of this or the reaction to it from around the Ohiosphere and beyond.
The Ohio Democratic Party, which strongly backed Dann’s come-from-behind campaign in 2006, is preparing to sever its ties with Dann. Chairman Chris Redfern said he expects the party’s executive committee to rescind its 2006 endorsement of Dann when it meets Saturday, which Redfern said would make Dann an independent officeholder. Democrats also are prepared to lead the impeachment drive, Redfern said.

“Pending Saturday’s events, he’ll be holding office as an independent who was elected as a Democrat,” Redfern said. “We will distance ourselves both figuratively and literally from Marc Dann until he makes the right decision, which is to step down.”
Does retroactively withdrawing an endorsement and subsequent kicking of Marc Dann out of the Democratic Party make the difference in determining the sort of judgement that the party made in choosing him in the first place? Not only should Betty Montgomery be ticked off at the way this whole thing has gone down, but so should Subodh Chandra (sp? - I'm not taking time to look it up in order to make sure I'm spelling that right...it is Saturday and I'm even more lazy than usual).

I'm not sure that there was a louder voice than mine when it came to screaming for Bob Taft's head, but even I don't think that if the GOP had removed Taft that would have balanced out the lack of judgement that the party showed in putting him there.

What has the Democratic Party done? So far, they've scrubbed their website and got quoted in a few papers... I'll try to contain my excitement... Now I'm hearing that Strickland and company are starting to back off the impeachment rhetoric and there has been at least one prominent Democrat (Paul Tipps) who used to be state chairman who thinks impeachment is a bad idea.
