The Krikorian for Congress campaign has raised over $150,000 since joining the race in April.Let me pull out one spot in particular where I object:
A local business owner and family man, David Krikorian is on the ballot this November as an Independent, non-party candidate representing the citizens of Ohio's second district. David will serve the people, not a political party.
David's commentary...
"Neither the Republicans, nor the Democrats, are meeting our country's needs and the people of Ohio's second district deserve better representation. Having spent years as a professional in finance, economics, and business, I understand that our ailing economy is the most pressing issue facing us today. We have a housing crisis, a credit crisis, and an energy crisis."
"Right here, in the 2nd district, people are losing jobs and their incomes are falling, while prices for the things they need are skyrocketing. Our federal trade and budget deficits are out of control, yet little is done to control spending. The value of the U.S. dollar is declining and the more the dollar falls, the more our standard of living declines. Gas prices are already topping $4/gallon, while food prices are rising dramatically. We need to act. We can, and we must, improve our economic reality."
Unfortunately for incumbent Jean Schmidt (R) and challenger Victoria Wulsin (D), David Krikorian is quickly gaining support, throughout the second district, as the better alternative to these two weaker candidates. The only credible poll, to date, performed by American Political Polling, an independent polling company, dated June 5, 2008, shows that the "district race is wide open" and is a "good fit for an Independent candidate".
This poll is encouraging to Mr. Krikorian given the amount of money his campaign has been able to raise in such a short amount of time. Even more impressive is that this money was raised without any affiliation to a political party.
David would like to thank his contributors, regular individuals, who have responded to his message and have decided to support his efforts with their generous contributions. The average contribution, to date, is $200.
The campaign is continuing to have great success in raising money to get David's message out to the voters. If you would like to find out more about David and his views, please visit KrikorianForCongress.com or call campaign headquarters at # 513-271-2987.
Thank you to our supporters!
Right here, in the 2nd district, people are losing jobs and their incomes are falling, while prices for the things they need are skyrocketing. And let me take these in reverse order... It is true that we are seeing some inflation in prices, so I don't have a concern about the end of his comment. "Incomes are falling"? OH-02 has the third highest median household income in the state. "People are losing their jobs"? The Cincinnati region has a 5.2 unemployment rate, which is below the national average and well below the state average.
That "independent" poll he is talking about is totally bogus. We debunked that nonsense here.
The fundraising effort was a surprise. The best part about that is that money that isn't going to Jean Schmidt is not going to Vic Wulsin...
