Butler County: Juvenile Court Update

We have three really good candidates for Juvenile Court and deciding which of these highly qualified individuals should get the honor of defeating Kathleen Dobrozsi Romans in November was a difficult choice.

Barbara Carter is going to be a force to be reckoned with someday, but I just don't think she is quite ready to take on a countywide race just yet.

Jeff Milbauer has worked with Judge Niehaus for thirty years both as an attorney and as a magistrate. The downside that he faces is that he's run quite a few times and hasn't been able to pull it off demonstrating that he still needs to work on his support organization.

Tim Evans is the right candidate. He is, as I noted the other day, a stellar attorney and has some judicial experience. He has the support of some pretty heavy hitters in the Republican Party and has the ability to self-fund the race. That last point is worth emphasizing as party resources are going to be at a premium in this cycle.

My initial research indicated that Evans might be a bit too "establishment" for my tastes as a number of his outspoken supporters are also friends of Mike Fox, but it turns out that Fox and Evans have an unpleasant history. Anyone who is in that boat surely deserves a lifeline from me...

To be honest, I'd be happy with any of these three candidates; but unless something drastic happens between now and then, I will be voting for Tim Evans at tonight's Central Committee meeting.
