This story truly is sad. Particularly when the reporter takes the time to find out a little something about the guy.

I wish I could say that I knew him. But I didn't. In fact, this guys name has been all over Twitter the last few days and I had never heard of him.
But after reading the Akron Bacon Fishwrapper story, I got a much clearer understanding of the Ohio Republican Party's internet strategy. This guy was a giant, but the Age of the Stand Alone Political Website is over. Mr. Connell took us to a place where we could grow beyond his vision for technology in politics, and for that I am very grateful.
For the record, Bob Fitrakis ought to be ashamed of himself...
