In a Rose Garden speech today, President Obama continued to repeat claims that simply do not reflect reality on Capitol Hill. The proposal he described may sound appealing, but it simply does not exist. What does exist are Democratic health care bills that will increase Americans’ health care costs, impose a new tax on small businesses, and force millions of Americans out of their current health care plans. Republicans have offered a better solution, but Congressional Democrats have continued to pursue a “go it alone” partisan approach that will increase costs and force millions of Americans to lose their current coverage:
Given the serious flaws in the bills that Congressional Democrats, Republican Leader Boehner today recommended to President Obama:
“Mr. President, it’s time to scrap this bill. Let’s start over in a bipartisan way. … There’s a bipartisan way to solve the cost problems in health care and to insure affordable access for more Americans, but it’s only going to happen if we can work together.”
Here are two of the claims that President Obama made today that just aren’t supported by the facts:
CLAIM: “(W)e have agreed that our health reform bill will include dramatic measures to cut costs while improving quality.”
FACT: According to ABC News, Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Douglas Elmendorf said the agency does not see health care cost savings in any of the partisan Democratic bills currently in Congress. In fact, he said the Democrats’ bills would expand costs significantly. Moreover, CBO on Friday released its cost estimate on the House Democrats’ government takeover of health care and found that it will deepen the federal budget deficit by $239 billion over the next 10 years. And this morning, Roll Call reported that the true cost of the House Democrats’ bill is actually $1.6 trillion, not the one trillion that they have been claiming.
CLAIM: “If you like your current plan, you will be able to keep it. Let me repeat that: If you like your plan, you'll be able to keep it.”
FACT: The Associated Press already reported that on this pledge, “White House officials suggest the president’s rhetoric shouldn’t be taken literally.” Maybe that’s because the Congressional Budget Office found that 23 million Americans would lose their current plans if a Senate Democratic health care “reform” bill was enacted. Worse yet, an independent study conducted by the Lewin Group predicted that 114 million Americans would be forced out of their current health care coverage, including more than 106 million Americans who currently have employer-provided health care.
CLAIM: “Each of these bills improves oversight while cracking down on waste.”
FACT: The Congressional Budget Office score of H.R. 3200 found that the provisions House Democrats claim will crack down on “waste, fraud, and abuse” will actually increase Medicaid and SCHIP spending over the next 10 years. And the bill saves only $1.3 billion over 10 years in Medicare – amounting to less than one-third of one percent of what Medicare will spend next year alone.

Obama Lies and the Economy AND ELDERLY DIE
Obama is getting a little too cocky or scared. He is letting his lies come more easily and less veiled. He is repeating proven untruths to the American people. Wasn't there some other "community organizer" who liked to talk about people believing lies if you told them repeatedly and told big lies? Who could that be? Can't put my finger on it...think he was born in Austria....anyway....
