BOEHNER: Ohioans Are Asking ‘Where Are the Jobs?’

Release:
WEST CHESTER, OH – Congressman John Boehner today renewed his call for immediate enactment of Republicans’ Pledge to America to help end economic uncertainty after the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported that Ohio’s jobless rate remained in double-digits for an 18th consecutive month in September.

“In February of 2009, President Obama signed the ‘stimulus’ into law amid promises that it would create jobs ‘immediately’ and hold unemployment below eight percent. Since then, millions more Americans have lost their jobs and the national unemployment has topped 9.5 percent.
“Here in the Buckeye State, more than 100,000 people have lost their jobs since the ‘stimulus’ was enacted. Unemployment has remained at or above 10 percent for 18 straight months. Middle-class families and small businesses across Ohio are joining Americans in asking ‘where are the jobs?’ Out of touch Washington Democrats still have no answers.
“With the Pledge to America, Republicans are offering a new and better way to address the people’s priorities, starting with a plan to create jobs and end economic uncertainty. This governing blueprint, which was built by listening to the people, starts with stopping all the looming tax hikes and ending Washington’s out-of-control spending spree. Make no mistake, our economy will ultimately recover, but it will do so because of the hard work and entrepreneurship of the American people, not more of the same wasteful Washington spending and job-killing tax hikes and mandates
