Mecklenborg to Chair the State Government and Elections Committee

COLUMBUS— State Representative Robert Mecklenborg (R-Cincinnati) today was appointed by Speaker of the Ohio House of Representative William G. Batchelder (R-Medina) to chair the State Government and Elections Committee. He will also serve on the Judiciary and Ethics Committee and the Finance and Appropriations Committee. Additionally, he has been selected to sit on the Higher Education Subcommittee of the Finance and Appropriations Committee.
 
“I am pleased with all of my committee assignments and look forward to getting to work for the people of Ohio.  I am especially grateful Speaker Batchelder has the confidence in me to serve as chairman of the State Government and Elections Committee,” Rep. Mecklenborg said.  “This important committee will deal with a wide range of issues including electoral reform, redistricting, regulatory reform and many other issues affecting our entire state.”
 
Rep. Mecklenborg is currently serving his third term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 30th House District, which includes large portions of western Hamilton CountyIn addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Mecklenborg is an attorney with the Dinsmore & Shohl law firm in Cincinnati. He is a lifelong resident of western Hamilton County.
