COLUMBUS— Ohio House Speaker Pro Tempore Louis Blessing, Jr. (Cincinnati) today was appointed by House Speaker William G. Batchelder (R-Medina) to serve on three committees during the 129th General Assembly. He will serve as chairman of the Rules and Reference Committee, in addition to serving on the Criminal Justice Committee and the State Government and Elections Committee.“It is truly an honor to serve in these leadership capacities during this General Assembly,” said Rep. Blessing. “The House will certainly confront a variety of issues over the next couple years, and I look forward to considering legislation to benefit all Ohioans.”Rep. Blessing has spent more than 27 years in the Ohio Legislature and was elected by his colleagues to serve as Speaker Pro Tempore of the Ohio House of Representatives during the 129th General Assembly. Prior to joining the Legislature, Representative Blessing worked as an attorney in Cincinnati. He also served as Common Pleas Court Referee for the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas and as a Colerain Township Trustee.
