I think that this Pitman piece was updated with the following quote from Don Spurlock:
Butler County GOP screening committee chairman and central committee member Don Spurlock said Swain “alluded to the fact that she wasn’t going to clean out the office in the beginning. She needed time to evaluate each individual.”There is a piece of information missing from the description of Mr. Spurlock. Spurlock also employs a spouse of one of the fired Clerk employees. Might that be clouding some judgment of Mr. Spurlock? Is that the motivation for the smear against Mary Swain? Could be.....
“It seemed like there was no intention on her part at that point to do anything, but then again everyone has different definitions of the word ‘time,’ ‘evaluate,’ ‘beginning’ and so forth,” he said.
On the other hand, maybe Mr. Spurlock is right. I actually don't know. I don't know if I actually care to know at this point. What I do know is that there is reason to suspect Mr. Spurlock is not objective in this issue.
