ORP: Boehner Deserves Great Credit for Spending Reform Plan Which Averts Default

Release:
Columbus - Ohio Republican Party Chairman Kevin DeWine released the following statement this evening in response to passage of the Budget Control Act of 2011  in the United States House of Representatives:

"The lack of leadership from President Obama during negotiations on the debt ceiling has been an epic failure for our prosperity as a nation," Chairman DeWine said.

"Speaker Boehner deserves great credit for presenting and passing not one, but two plans which guarantee spending reform and stand firm against President Obama's desire for steep tax increases on the backs of Ohio job creators.  The responsibility now falls to Sherrod Brown and the U.S. Senate to move beyond this Democratically-manufactured crisis and show financial markets that the United States will avoid default on its financial obligations."
