Chariman Alex on Selection for 30th Ohio House

Release:
The Republicans in the Ohio House of Representatives have made their decision on which of the many qualified candidates should replace Bob Mecklenborg in the 30th Ohio House district. After considering a field of over 10 applicants, it has been announced that Green Township resident Lou Terhar will be the new representative. The vacancy was created upon the resignation of Mr. Mecklenborg. The 30th House district encompasses a sizable portion of western Hamilton County including Green Township, Delhi Township, Cleves, and Harrison.

Mr. Terhar has an impressive resume. He has been President and CEO of several successful companies. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He received a graduate degree from Harvard and teaches at Xavier University. He is active with the Boy Scouts and several other charitable and civic organizations. Lou's wife, Debe, was recently elected to serve on the Ohio Board of Education where she is the President of the Board. Debe and Lou have 4 children and 3 grandchildren.

Statement of Chairman Alex M. Triantafilou

"The Republicans in the State House of Representatives had a difficult decision to make because of the many outstanding candidates who were being considered for this important seat. The citizens of the 30th House District should be gratified by the high quality nature of the applicants.

"Lou Terhar is a fine choice to serve the citizens of the 30th House District. He is a businessman--not a politician. His successful career in business and his background as a veteran of the United States Navy make him a supremely qualified candidate to take this seat."

"Mr. Terhar joins a leadership team in Columbus that has recently balanced the state budget, taken courageous steps to reform government, and have taken on special interests to protect the taxpayer. I am confident he will serve admirably."
