NY Times STILL Doesn't Get It
Two suicide bombers exploded cars outside Iraqi police stations today, killing at least six people and themselves, and wounding 22, in an apparent sign that the insurgency aimed at American occupation forces and the Iraqis who work with them is continuing despite the capture of Saddam Hussein.
And near the end of this "fair and balanced" piece...
Despite the public euphoria in the immediate aftermath of the capture of Mr. Hussein, anger at the American occupation runs high in towns in Iraq, such as Khalidiya, where many people are Sunni Muslims, a group favored by Mr. Hussein before he was deposed by the United States.
Get the rest of the drivel from the New York Times, the so-called "paper of record."
Matt's Chat
What I don't understand is how the New York Times can continue to think that the people of Iraq are not on the side of freedom from tyranny. NYT, please pay attention, Iraqis ACTUALLY LIKE WHAT WE HAVE DONE. They actually THANK PRESIDENT BUSH for doing what needed to be done. They've named children after the President. They treat our troops as liberators.Saying otherwise is like saying that this country is run by an obnoxious and pathetic minorioty like the KKK. We all know that isn't the truth, so why doesn't the NYT do us all a favor and report the TRUTH about the people of Iraq.
Mark's Remarks
Well, Matt, if you listen to intellectually dishonest and irresponsible liberals out there, you would know we are being run by the KKK, and worse yet, Conservative KKK.
I am sorry, friends. I am sick of all the spin and triangulation. Come on, we just captured the Hitler of our time. Our maligned men and women have done something wonderful, and all the leftist Times and the uberidiotic libs out there can do is try to spin for political gain? Well, never let the facts that in Baghdad, in most of Iraq, even according to CNN's coverage, there was a multitude of celebration. The Times takes a report of maybe 20 upset against the capture, and turns it into a majority....great objectivity...maybe next week, you will do us all a favor and just put a pic of Howard Dean on your banner and show your true colors, or maybe Karl Marx.
