New Year's Dirty Bomb
One of the U.S. officials' main fears was of a dirty bomb, in which a conventional bomb is detonated and spews radioactive material and radiation across a small area. Security specialists say such a weapon is unlikely to cause mass casualties but could cause panic and devastate a local economy.
On the same day that Ridge raised the national threat level to orange ("high") from yellow ("elevated"), the Homeland Security Department sent out large fixed radiation detectors and hundreds of pager-size radiation monitors for use by police in Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Houston, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Detroit.

This is exactly why the adminsitration is doing the kinds of things that they are doing. They are getting intelligence and acting on it. That didn't neccessarily happen prior to 9/11. So, I think this serves as proof that we are indeed safer these days. I like the fact that when something credible comes across some analyst's desk, it gets checked out.We have no idea how many plots may have been averted by the efforts of the administration since 9/11. Let us pray that we continue to have success.

Matt, don't you know, this is all so tedious, I mean, omygod, I might have a flight cancelled or diverted...It makes me live in like, so much fear....Oh, sorry, I was just remembering a hamster's diatribe on the security situation. They charge we are living in fear...funny, wasn't this a huge turnout for New Years? Has there been a sharp decrease in flying since the whole delay thing has gone on? I didn't think so. You see, liberals love to sensationalize. They take precautions and turn them into paranoia. They take vigilance and turn it into profiling or stereotyping. These people do not care about the security of America. They do not care about the safety of passengers. All they care about are themselves and their own position and power. And that is why so many are turning from their position, because they are tired of being on the plantation. They are tired of being told what to think, of being told what openmindedness is, of being told what talking points to bring up.
Liberals are all about the smear, all about maintaining or securing power. That is why they trash this current national security color system and the precautions. They want us to be caught unawares. They want another tragedy so they can say, "see, we told you we were right." It does not matter to them how many possible plots we averted. They only see the delays and short term things. They are the most shortsighted people around. WE must not let them win. Stay strong, stay vigilant, and keep on keeping on. This is Mark, thanks for reading.
