Anti-American Sentiment in MEXICO

AP story from AZCentral.com:

The Mexican crowd hooted "The Star-Spangled Banner." It booed U.S. goals. It chanted "Osama! Osama! Osama!" as U.S. players left the field with a 2-0 victory.

And that was in a game against Canada on Thursday before just 1,500 people.

Matt's Chat

I'm beginning to think that there might be something to the idea of asking the Israelis to contract/consult with us on a fence of our own when they finish theirs...

Mark's Remarks

This is what gets me about Latin America. They give us all their poor, they constantly whine and moan about needing loans, then their citizens chant the name of that (expletive deleted) at a soccer game and boo our national anthem?!? Give me a break. These people need to realize they would no longer be a country but a mass cauldron of chaos if it wasn't for us backing up their useless peso with our money, because their economy continues to be crap, and Vicente Fox is nothing more than just sitting as usual waiting for us to solve his problems, while whining we in the US are not doing enough. Look, maybe IT IS time for us to simply say to Latin America and other countries "go to hell" and pull our resources out, stop helping as we do. Maybe we should sink to their level. But then, we would become the stereotype these ungrateful Latinos are using. We would not be Americans, we would be bullies. And that is not who we are.
