Palestinians Mad at US

From CBS News:
President Bush's strong endorsement of Israel's "disengagement plan" lifted support Thursday for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon but left angry Palestinian leaders scrambling to galvanize international opposition to the U.S. stance.

"I don't think that he should reward the Israeli illegal actions of stealing Palestinian lands to build settlements," Palestinian cabinet minister Saab Erekat told CBS News Correspondent Robert Berger.

Erekat said it's as if he would come to President Bush and tell him that "Texas is a part of China."

Matt's Chat

The Palestinians have NEVER had a nation. NEVER. They never had any land. No amount of propaganda is going to change that fact.

Israel is the only functioning democracy in the Middle East (at least, until Iraq gets going). We have to support it. It is the right thing to do.

Arafat is not interested in peace. He has turned down offer after offer and still hasn't acted to stop the terrorism. Arafat has a responsibility under the roadmap, he has failed and should not be rewarded. One begins to wonder at what point should he be punished.

Mark's Remarks

Yes, let's review....there has never been an official country known as Palestine. The "Palestinians" as they are called, are merely Arabs....The land of Israel has been recognized for centuries as the ancestral domain of Hebrews, aka Jews. The Palestinians claims are nonexistent, they have none. And, their own brother Arabs do not want them. That is why there was a Palestinian refugee "crisis" in the 1980s. The Syrians, Jordanians, etc. did not want the Palestinians. So, who really caused the crisis?

Also, Israel gives the Palestinians the same rights as Israelis. They are allowed to even run for office to the Knesset. And what do Palestinians do? They try to steal land and murder innocents....at least their leadership does....and why are we trying to reward them, again?
