CrushKerry: Air America Not Interested in Paid Ad

We recently inquired about ad rates through the Air America website (without mentioning who we are or the message of our ad.) We received a polite call back that, unfortunately, went directly into voice mail. We returned the sales rep’s call several hours later, but it was well after the close of business, so we, too, left a voice mail.

After a couple days of phone tag we finally got through. Unfortunately our polite sales rep suddenly turned icy cold when we explained who we are and the message of our ad. She promised to get back to us after they spoke with the ‘powers that be’ at Air America about whether or not they would run the ad.

We waited. And waited. And never heard back. So we called them again.

“Yeah, we know who you are,” the advertising sales rep said, after we introduced ourselves. “And we’re not going to be running your ad.”

“But we’re willing to pay … ”

Apparently, Air America would rather keep laying people off than accept some fair and balanced political advertising they don't happen to agree with. We'll remember this the next time the liberals accuse Republicans of “stifling dissent.”
