From the Amazing Minds of Mehul Srivastava and Aaron Powell Jr.:
Bush-Cheney backers easily outnumbered
In a crowd full of Democrats, Bryan Gamble smiled gamely as a friend pointed to Gamble's "This veteran votes for Bush" T-shirt and joked, "We're praying for him."
"I believe in what Bush says," said Gamble, a veteran of the Kosovo war. "Kerry's a flip-flopper who undermined the troops when he came back from Vietnam."
Gamble — along with roughly 100 Bush-Cheney supporters gathered at the edge of the rally — were in a decided minority Wednesday as thousands of people enthusiastically greeted Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, the presumptive Democratic nominee, and his running mate, North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, at RiverScape MetroPark in downtown Dayton on Wednesday.
Matt's Chat
What geniuses they employ at the Dayton Daily Democrattm! Here's a clue...it was a rally for John Kerry. Now, I realize the mainstream Democrats are experiencing buyers remorse on this ticket, but you gotta be kidding me if you think it is news that Bush/Cheney supporters were outnumbered at a Kerry rally...Lemme see if I can come up for the right word for this "article": Asininity, cretinism, derangement, fatuity, fatuousness, foolishness, imbecility, inanity, idiocy, insanity, insipidity, lunacy, madness, senselessness, stupidity, tomfoolery. Thank God for Dictionary.com...dunno what I'd do without them...they always have just the right word.....
Mark's Remarks
This article is more drivel trying to say George W. Bush has no support, in other words, it is about twisting opinion. As Matt pointed out, THIS WAS A KERRY RALLY. Do you honestly think the Democratic operatives who were passing out free tickets earlier in the day would have given them to Bush supporters? The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that people were asked how they felt about John Kerry before being given a ticket to the rally, among the couple thousand that went unclaimed and were distributed to people on the street. Hmm.....isn't that amazing? Yet we hear nothing of that in this article....And, I mean, really, maybe the Bush/Cheney supporters had something better to do, you know, like work a job or you know, do something for themselves in the middle of the day....Or maybe they were intimidated by the violence of people like ACT and moveon.org who have threatened violence against dissenters at rallys.
