McGreevey Incident an Israeli Intelligence Op?

By Matt Hurley for the TIB Network:

Foreign policy and intelligence analyst Andy Martin is expected to publish an article claiming that the McGreevey sex scandal was actually an Israeli intelligence operation gone bad.

"People have been confused by the McGreevey sex scandal," says Martin. "But McGreevey's dilemma is not a gay sex scandal. It is an Israeli intelligence operation gone sour. This is not a scandal about 'sex.' It is a scandal about 'secrets.'

"McGreevey said he had sex. He did. Golan Cipel says he is not gay. He's not. They are both right. Mr. Cipel was a junior Mossad case officer, originally posted to New York under official cover. The Mossad is well known for using human sex toys. McGreevey was lured into a relationship that was intended to penetrate New Jersey's homeland defenses."

Which leaves us with the question of why Mossad would need or want to infiltrate a state's homeland security program. It would make more sense to desire access at the national level.

Martin has an answer to that question. "Since 9/11 there has been barely suppressed anger at the fact Israeli intelligence knew about the hijackers and said nothing. Israelis have found themselves under suspicion and restricted by some intelligence channels. The state homeland security position was seen as a back door way of spying on anti-terror preparations in the New York-New Jersey area, and possibly nationally."

If Cipal is indeed an agent of Israel, one would think that he wouldn't bother with his lawsuit. Another loose end: it has been indicated that McGreevey was also the victim of some blackmail as well. Martin seems to think that all of this is a smokescreen: "The media have focused on the wrong blackmail scheme. This was not a sexual blackmail situation, although threats and demands have been made. 'Gay sex' is being used to conceal the real nature of the betrayal. This was a blackmail scheme intended to place Golan Cipel in a position of intense interest to Israeli intelligence. I am asking the U.S. Attorney for New Jersey to refocus his investigation into a breach-of-security investigation instead of a sex scandal."

Does any of this impact the other controversy surrounding the McGreevey resignation; that being whether or not he should step down immediately? One wouldn't think so, but is another reason to throw on the pile of reasons why McGreevey should get out of office as soon as humanly possible. If he has been compromised by a foreign intelligence service, he could still be doing their bidding knowingly or otherwise.

McGreevey's administration was a corrupt one from the start. There are plenty of other allegations to also warrant McGreevey leaving his post sooner rather than later.

This story continues to develop, but at the moment I hold this piece of the story with a healthy bit of skepticism while not discounting it altogether.

Mark's Remarks

OK, sorry for this, but I am going to have to go off the ranch with my friend Matt here. This reeks of more of what the Left and the Democratic party are famous for: blaming Israel for the problems of the world. You know, for people who call themselves DEMOCRAC(Y)rats, they certainly hate the only entrenched democracy with a stable track record in the Middle East.

This smells of the Left (maybe at urging from their best buddies, Frenchies)inciting anti-semitism. More efforts to fracture the relationship between Israel and the US, it sounds like to me.

John Kerry Delenda Est!
