Hewitt just asked DeWine whether or not judicial nominations affect senatorial elections. DeWine's attitude has certainly changed. Thank God somebody got to him and delivered the message...
DeWine says he sees no reason why the Seante can't "get this done" before the end of the year.

Call this: Lesson Learned. Don't think Milktoast Mikey wasn't paying attention to the buttkicking his son received, in many ways because Big Poppa Mike was part of the gang of 14. Judging by the reaction to Alito by Lindsey Graham and others in the gang, the message was received with the Miers fiasco: Don't Screw Us Again!
Remember, Mike DeWine is facing a tough reelection campaign, with Sherrod Brown and Paul Hackett challenging him. If he wants to get a victory, he has to ignite the base. The best way to do that is to cater to the Conservative idea. Voters should not be surprised that once he wins reelection, he will return to his "moderate" views.
