DeWine Update

Mainstream media covering the Senator's stance on using the Constitutional Option if Democrats filibuster Alito:

ABC News: "If someone would filibuster … I would be prepared to vote to change the rules," said Sen. Mike DeWine, R-Ohio.

Bloomberg: "Picking Alito 'is going to save us from a filibuster,' Senator Mike DeWine, an Ohio Republican, said of the parliamentary tactic that permits unlimited debate."

Cleveland Plain Dealer: "From everything I know about him, I can't think that anyone would believe that his nomination constitutes 'extraordinary circumstances' that would lead them to filibuster him," DeWine said.

"This is not that type nomination at all. And if a filibuster was attempted, I would certainly oppose that and if it came to that, vote to change the rules of the Senate to stop that type of filibuster."

Mark's Remarks

You know, for someone who, I believe it was reported here by Matt, who said that the voices against Miers didn't matter, well gee, it appears they matter to Mikey now. Wonder why? Could it be his upcoming election campaign, hmmm?
