Public Enemy Number One

An uber-liberal group, Americans United for Change, have named their Middle Class Ohio's Public Enemy #1: Steve Chabot. What did he do to deserve this distinction? Well according to the post at OPENERS, Chabot's voting against the minimum wage increase and the Union Enforcement Act (I think that is a more appropriate name for HR800) did the trick:
Chabot's offenses: voting against a minimum wage hike and voting against the Employee Free Choice Act, which would make it easier for workers to unionize -- too easy, says big business, whose lobby says the bill would deprive workers of their right to make such decisions in private.

"Until Rep. Chabot gets his priorities straight in Washington and stops pandering to the special interests at the expense of working people, we will continue to identify him as middle class Ohio's public enemy #1," said a statement from Jeremy Funk, the group's spokesman.
Of course, as Stephen Koff points out, Chabot was a middle class teacher who put himself through night school.

Well, if COAST can continue their ridiculous crusade against Jean Schmidt; why not have the crazies who are supposed to support the middle class attack a guy who has about as middle class background as one can expect to find in Congress.
