Top Democrat: American Soldier = Babysitters

Via email:
During debate on Democrats’ “slow-bleed” legislation – which forces our troops to carry pork spending for powerful Democrats – Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey (D-WI) likened American soldiers to babysitters and called their mission a “permanent, long-term, dead-end.” According to Reuters:

“Rep. David Obey of Wisconsin , the chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, opened floor debate saying a vote for the spending bill would mean ‘that we’re going to end the permanent, long-term, dead-end babysitting service. That's what we are trying to do.’”

Is this really what Democrats think of our troops and their mission?
