KAY ROGERS PLEADS GUILTY ON DYNUS

This is the time on WMD when we DANCE! Why? Because we've taken some heat for this story and it turns out, we were right!

Check out the story in the Hamilton Journal-News...but here is the meat of it:
Butler County Auditor Kay Rogers has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and mail fraud, and one count of filing a false income tax return.

A statement of facts filed with her plea agreement says Rogers committed fraud from August 2004 to March 2006 by falsely representing to National City Bank that a company was authorized to do business with the county and had completed work that she knew was not done.

Rogers pleaded guilty Feb. 4 before Chief United States District Judge Sandra Beckwith.

This is in connection with a fiber optics project that led to a lawsuit against the county, a company's demise and a period of vitriolic county politics.

Rogers played a key role in Butler County's disputed contract with Dynus Global Communications, which took out a $6.5 million loan in 2005 in the county's name — without the county's approval, commissioners say.

Rogers was thoroughly criticized for allegedly signing multiple documents related to the loan. She admits to signing some documents with the provision that there was no agreement with the county until commissioners voted on it, and said other signatures were forgeries.
...
Conspiracy to commit bank fraud and mail fraud is punishable by up to 30 years imprisonment. Filing a false income tax return is punishable by up to three years imprisonment. Judge Beckwith will schedule a date for sentencing.
Now, remind me sports fans, who does Kay Rogers support in the Butler County Commission race again? That's right...

At this time, I DEMAND that Kay Rogers resign immediately. Corruption like this shall not stand.

I call upon EVERY Republican to DEMAND that Kay Rogers resign immediately for the good of the party and our community.

UPDATE: One of my sources predicted this a few days ago. The reliability rating of this source just went up a few notches! :)

UPDATE 2: The web form for contacting Kay Rogers and asking when she might be expected to resign is right here.

UPDATE 3: DANCE, SNOOPY, DANCE!!!

UPDATE 4:

Current Status of Kay Rogers' Political Career:

UPDATE 5: Statement from Butler County GOP Executive Chairman Tom Ellis may be found here.

UPDATE 6: How am I feeling?

"D@#} it feels good to be a gangsta!"

UPDATE 7: Well, lookee here...Kay Rogers has had a run in with the law before... My favorite part? So glad you asked:
The lawsuit, which Mr. Rogers says has upset his ex-wife, involves a video store business, Silver Screen Co., in which Mr. Rogers owns a minority interest. Mr. Rogers has claimed that his ex-wife and another business associate refused to provide him with documents that would help him determine the value of his interest in the corporation. He also has alleged they misappropriated corporate assets.
I remember something about patterns of behavior...what was that again?

UPDATE 8: I just re-read the HJ-N story...she's plead guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud. Now, a conspiracy takes more than one person plotting to fraud... Might we get lucky and clean out some more rot from Butler County's public servant roster? I'm looking in the direction of Butler County's Children's Services Board...
