Post-Game Analysis

Well, if you stayed up until 1 ACK EMMA to hear the conclusion of the broadcaast last night, most of this will sound familiar to you... For everyone else, here is what you missed last night on TIB Radio...

  • Top Story: Huckabee did surprising well and is not out of it by any means. He took Georgia and nearly swiped Missouri from McCain... All of that said, he would make a horrible choice for Veep for Maverick, and I don't think he can actually win the nomination.

  • Obamanation: Obama did what he needed to do last night, which is close the delegate count a bit and score a string of victories that would appear to give him momentum. No-mentum has shifted from the GOP race to the Dems though...this one is going to the convention...which makes the superdelegates and the Michigan/Florida situation all the more important. If it goes Clinton, will that be enough to upset black voters to consider the GOP?

  • McCain is winning states he won't win in November. I still need to take a look at this one, but this certainly sounds plausible. He's still the front runner, but not the presumptive nominee...he missed the knockout that he was looking for...

  • Another liberal theory proven to be projection. Talk radio listeners are NOT drones. They think for themselves and if the race this far proves anything, that's it... Now we're going to see some more serious discussion of conservatism and what that means for the Republican Party.

  • Conservatives have a LOT of work to do. Sitting on the sidelines is not going to help... Whining won't get the job done either... We'll still see plenty of conservatives doing one or the other or both...

  • Ohio just MIGHT have a say in all of this after all...

  • UPDATE: Some electoral map reading...

Here is the 2004 post game map:

And here is where we stand in the GOP race so far...
